Heavy rain continues to lash parts of Kerala and Lakshadweep

AMN

Heavy rain continues to lash many parts of Kerala and Lakshadweep due to advancement of the Monsoon and depression in Arabian sea.

“As rain continues, massive sea erosion is been reported from coastal regions of the State. The areas witnessed widespread damage of properties and coastal roads. Control rooms are opened in all districts. Met departments predict heavy rainfall across the state for the coming two days.

Orange s have been declared in Kozhikode and Malappuram districts and Yellow in Kollam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Kannur, and Kasarkode.

As strong winds and high waves are expected over the coast of Kerala and Karnataka, fisher folks are urged not to venture into the sea and to those in the sea to return to safer places immediately. Coast guards and naval forces are continuing efforts to safely bring back the fishermen in the sea.
