Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday evening claimed that his NDA government has taken unprecedented steps to combat corruption in the country. He said that those who were earlier looting the nation were not enthused by his government.
“On the one one hand there is agenda of development, on other there is agenda of obstructionism and the people are capable of finding the truth” PM said at the mega event ‘Ek Nayi Subha’ at India Gate in New Delhi. He said the Centre has found over a crore and sixty two lakh fake ration cards, which has resulted in saving over 36000 crore rupees leakages.
“The work of the government is being very carefully analysed and it must be evaluated against the work of previous regimes. In a democracy it is vital to analyse everyone’s work but one can’t make a mistake of creating a false atmosphere of despondency”, Mr Modi said.
Saying the poor must get the fruits of development, the Prime minister said in the coming three years, five crore LPG connections will be provided to poor. He said for good governance it is imperative for the government to trust its citizens.
Thanking the people of country for placing their faith in the government, Mr Modi said Coal mine auctions have been done in transparent manner. Highlighting the achievements of his government, he said the government has abolished the process of interview in Group C and D posts.
Many of PM’s ministerial colleagues have attended the event at India Gate.
Earlier, Finance minister Arun Jaitley today said, the government is making all-out efforts to unearth black money stashed in offshore accounts.
Speaking at a mega event Ek Nayi Subah in New Delhi to celebrate BJP led NDA government’s completion of two years in office at centre, Mr Jaitley said, the government has launched a massive crackdown on parallel economies.
He said, the Indian economy can grow at the rate of 8-9 percent in the years to come. Mr Jaitley said, first time in history, India is growing at a pace no other country can match.
Mr Jaitley said, never in the history has any government taken so many steps which NDA has taken in two years.
The minister said, rural economy will grow if there is a good monsoon and resources should be pumped in rural areas due to which overall economy will grow. Mr Jaitley said, the government has provided the road connectivity in seven lakh villages in the country.
The Finance Minister also said, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana has been launched to benefit millions of farmers of the country.
At the Mega event film star Amitabh Bacchan strongly advocated his opinion on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, the much ambitious scheme of the government to save girl child.
On the occasion, Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said, the Narendra Modi led government is providing electricity in rural households. He said, the government has set a target of providing electricity to those 18 thousand villages which are not electrified.
Minority Affairs Minister Najma Heptulla said, minority community have benifited from the Jan Dhan Yojana and the scheme has built up confidence among them.
Union Minister for Roads, Transport, Highways and Shipping Nitin Gadkari assured that the BJP led government at Centre is working with much tenacity for better road connectivity in the Northeastern region. Mr Gadkari said, the government has decided to increase the national highways network to two lakh kilometre from 96,000 kilometre.
Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh said, the government has taken several measures for the welfare of the farmers. He said, the government is implementing Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana and addressed the problem of availability of urea.
Rural Development Minister Chaudhary Birender Singh said, the government has exceeded its targets in building toilets. He said, government’s mission is to end open-defecation completely.
Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi said, the NDA government has built 30,000 new homes for orphans and doing for them.
The government completed two years in office on Thursday and it has launched a series of events to highlight the achievements of the government.
