Both the Houses of Parliament adjourned sine die. In his observation, Lok Sabha Speaker, OM Birla said, the Houses functioned 130 hours 45 minutes in this session. He also said, the productivity of the House was 115 per cent. The speaker said, during the session, several important Bills were passed and issues were discussed.
In the Rajya Sabha, in his valedictory address, Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu said, the session registered around 100 per cent productivity and passed 15 important Bills.
The Bills include Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Bill and Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Bill. He said, over 11 hours were wasted in the session due to disruptions however members sat beyond scheduled hours to complete the business. Both the Houses paid homage to the martyrs of Parliament terror attack in the morning.
