India’s Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has assured Mauritius that India will continue to extend full support to it for training and capacity-building.
Parrikar was addressing at the event of commissioning Indian-made fast patrol vessel for the coast guards at Port Louis in Mauritius today. Parrikar also handed over two Chetak helicopters to Mauritius government during the programme.
He met Mauritius Prime Minister Anerood Jugnauth and was the special guest of honour at the event commissioning the water jet attack craft. Parrikar is the first Indian defence minister visiting Mauritius. Indian Defence Minister said the multifaceted bilateral partnership reaches yet another milestone with the commissioning of the CGS Victory and the two Chetak helicopters.
In his address at the ceremony, he said this year was marked by renewed vigour in all the different facets of multidimensional relationship. Parrikar will meet the President of Mauritius Ameenah Gurib-Fakim and also interact with other Cabinet ministers of the Mauritius government tomorrow.
