President Pranab Mukherjee turns 81 today. A number of programmes have been planned by the Rashtrapati Bhavan to celebrate his birthday that include launch of ‘100 Million for 100 Million’ Campaign. The Campaign is with the objective to mobilise 100 million youth and children for 100 million underprivileged children in the world, to end child labour, child slavery, violence against children and promote the right of every child to be safe, free, and educated, over the next 5 years.
On his birthday, three books ‘Rashtrapati Bhavan- From Raj to Swaraj, Life at Rashtrapati Bhavan and Indradhanush – Volume-2 will be released by the Vice President and Prime Minister in the presence of the President. The book – Life at Rashtrapati Bhavan is an attempt to record the human history of the residents living in the President’s Estate.
The book also documents the significance of the multiple contributions made by President Pranab Mukherjee and his team in transforming the premises of the Rashtrapati Bhavan into the ‘smart’ city .
The book- Indradhanush Volume-2 is a compendium of music, dance, theatre and cinematic presentations organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Mr. Mukherjee will inaugurate a new Museum for vintage tapestries and carpets in the Marble Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan, and a new Hall for encouraging innovation in the Rashtrapati Bhavan. He will also inaugurate a Housing Complex comprising two ten storey residential towers for staff of Rashtrapati Bhavan
