River Ganga in Bihar continues to wreak havoc in Bhagalpur, Munger and Katihar districts. 14 people have drowned during last 24 hours in different districts. Altogether 60 people have died in flood-related incidents in the state.
34 lakh people are reeling under the impact of flood in 12 districts of the state.
Bhagalpur is the worst affected district. Flood water has breached road between Navgachhia and Bhagalpur. Road connection from Bhagalpur to North Bihar has been snapped. Surging water of Ganga has threatened ruins of famous ancient Vikramshila University. Flood situation continues to remain grim with flood water close to overtopping railway tracks at several places on Bhagalpur-Jamalpur and Bhagalpur-Sahebganj rail sections. Railways are maintaining round-the-clock vigil on these stretches
