Heavy downpour since last night has thrown life out of gear in Guwahati city and neighboring areas in Assam. Several residential areas of the city have been inundated. Anil Nagar, Nabin Nagar, R G Baruah Road, Panjabari and Zoo Road areas among others have been badly affected due to massive water logging.

Vehicles including city buses are not plying at R G Baruah Road causing harassment for office goers and other people. Incessant rains also affected normal life in Guwahati last Sunday also. Though administration is taking step to get rid of artificial flood in Guwahati, but it has not brought desired result as of now . Kamrup Metro district authority has begun to pump out water. Meanwhile, official sources said that nearly 40 villages have been submerged in flash flood in Dhemaji district . Flash flood also reportedly submerged a few places in Kamrup and Goalpara districts.
