The total number of COVID 19 positive cases in Uttar Pradesh has reached at 1,843 in 58 districts. At present, there are 1,525 active cases across the state.

Principal secretary Health and Family Welfare Amit Mohan Prasad told media at Lucknow Sunday that 289 patients have been discharged after recovery. He said that 29 people have died due to the disease.

Mr Prasad said that 10 districts have been declared Coronavirus free. He said that there are 17 districts where no case of COVID-19 has been reported.

Mr Prasad said that number of testing is being increased in state and as of now more 56,000 samples have been tested for novel Coronavirus in state .

Additional Chief secretary Home, Avnish Awasthi informed media that the government is strictly complying lockdown rules and more than 30,000 FIRs have been lodged under section 188 for violation of lockdown. He said, more than 31,000 vehicles have been seized for not following lockdown rules.

He said that the migrant workers coming from other states are being kept in under strict rule of quarantine and being provided all essential facilities.
