US Ambassador to India Kenneth Jester has said that a team headed by the Deputy Commander of the US Army General Major Bryan will participate in the Defence Expo. In a press release, he said, India has been playing a positive role in the pacific region.

He pointed out that India and the US have a significant relationship which has reached a milestone under the present rule of American President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said, several joint ventures and MoUs had been signed in exchange of defence technology, commercial ventures and sale of defence weapons. He said, US has been supplying smaller weapons, communication equipments, helicopters and fighter jets to India. Nineteen US companies are taking part in the expo.

“Together, the United States and India are building a dynamic defense relationship through the Defense Technology and Trade Initiative, military exercises, official visits and exchanges, and the sales of military systems and platforms. In addition, the U.S. defense industry has demonstrated its commitment to partnering with India to provide the highest quality, most reliable, and most technologically-advanced defense equipment and systems in the world – from small arms, to unmanned aerial systems, to helicopters and fighter aircraft. Nineteen U.S. companies will exhibit at this year’s DEFEXPO; many more are participating. A number of these companies have operated in India for years, while others are new to the market” , said a press statement from US embassy in India.
