Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced an internship scheme for the 10th, 12th and graduating students of the state to brighten employment prospects of these students. Addressing a job fair organised by the Department of Labour and Employment Exchange in Gorakhpur today, the Chief Minister said that the state government will bring the internship scheme this year itself.

He said, under the scheme, students will be linked to various technical institutes and industries. He said that during the internship of a period of six months or a year, each participating youth will be given 2500 rupees as honorarium every month. Out of this, 1500 rupees will be given by the Central Government and 1000 rupees by the State Government. Mr. Adityanath said that after the completion of the internship, the government will also arrange for placement of these students. A dedicated HR cell will also be created for this.

The Chief Minister also stressed that the UP government is committed to empower the girls and firmly taking necessary steps in this direction. He said, the state government has decided that 20 per cent girls will be compulsorily recruited in the police department in the state so that they can contribute towards the state’s security.
