Sushant Singh Rajput Case: Rhea Not Part of Drug Syndicate, Says Bombay HC, Grants Bail; No Relief for Brother Showik

The Bombay High Court today granted bail to actress Rhea Chakraborty in an alleged drug-related case pertaining to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.
While Rhea was granted bail on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh, the high court rejected the plea of her brother Showik Chakraborty. Rhea Chakraborty “is not part of a chain of drug dealers” and “has not forwarded the drugs allegedly procured by her to somebody else to earn monetary or other benefits,” the High Court in its order.
Samuel Miranda and Dipesh Sawant get bail
The Bombay high court also granted bail to Sushant Singh Rajput’s cook Dipesh Sawant and his house manager Samuel Miranda on a personal bond of Rs. 50,000 each. Recently, the team of doctors from AIIMS who accompanied the CBI team to Mumbai to help them with the investigation submitted their report to the agency. In their report, AIIMS experts ruled out any possibility of foul play and stated that Sushant Singh Rajput’s death was a case of suicide and not murder.
On the other hand, accusing Sushant Singh Rajput’s family and their legal advisors of “interfering and tampering with the investigations”, team Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyers have warned that they will bring it to the notice of the appropriate courts. Advocate Satish Maneshinde, who represents Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik, said that the kin and lawyers of the late actor are raising doubts on the probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and also the conclusions of the AIIMS forensic team.
Meanwhile, Sushant Singh Rajput’s sisters Priyanka Singh and Meetu Singh on Tuesday moved the Bombay High Court, seeking to quash the FIR registered against them by Mumbai Police for forgery and procuring fake medical prescription for their late brother. The Bandra police lodged the FIR against the duo on September 7, based on a complaint filed by Rajput’s purported girlfriend and actress Rhea Chakraborty, who is currently in jail in connection with a drugs case related to the actor’s death.
