Veteran Actor Anant Nag will be presented with the prestigous Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2024 for his contribution to Indian cinema and an illustrious cinematic journey that has inspired generations. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting announced this today. The award will be presented at the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony on 22nd of this month in Kevadia, Gujarat.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated legendary actor Anant Nag on being conferred the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. In a social media post, the Prime Minister said that Mr Nag’s effortless performances, remarkable versatility and brilliance have left a very strong mark on Indian cinema that for several decades. Mr Modi said that the veteran actor has always brought rare depth and authenticity in his performances. The Prime Minister sasid that this is indeed a richly deserved honour for a truly distinguished artist.
Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw has congratulated Mr Nag for this achievement. In a social media post Mr Vaishnaw said that this is a truly deserving recognition of an illustrious journey.
Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr L Mururgan also congratulated Anant Nag. He said that very few actors can transition seamlessly between arthouse cinema, classic comedies, and powerhouse character roles like Mr Nag. he added that it is a truly fitting honour for one of the greatest storytellers and performers of the country.
