The election officials in Tamil Nadu have identified 9630 polling booths as sensitive. The state chief electoral officer Rajesh Lakhoni told newspersons in Chennai on Wednesday, paramilitary forces would be deployed in the sensitive booths during the May 16 Assembly General Election.
The central forces are expected to start arriving the state from the first week of May. All polling booths will be having EVMs with braille facility for visually impaired to cast their votes, Mr Lakhoni said.
Meanwhile, the flying squads are being provided with GPS systems for real time identification of the places of their vehicle checks and the timings.
