Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has intensified its efforts to control air pollution in New Delhi. MCD has deployed 372 monitoring teams consisting of 1,295 officers across all 12 zones to enforce strict adherence to Stage 4 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP-IV) guidelines.
These teams are focusing on preventing open garbage burning, illegal Construction and Waste dumping, and dust control on roads. MCD informed that it has taken strong action against 117 violators in the Karol Bagh zone.
MCD mentioned that for improved enforcement, the Karol Bagh zone has deployed 36 teams comprising 77 officers. Sahadara North and Central Zone are also taking stringent measures to curb air pollution in their jurisdiction. The MCD has directed all the Zonal Officers to strictly implement the revised guidelines issued by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) from time to time.
