Convention on Protection of Constitution of India

By Andalib / New Delhi

President of the Jamiat Ulema Hind, Maulana Arshad Madani has said that the biggest danger India is facing today is attack on its secular constitution which gives equal rights and powers to all the citizens of the country. He said that constitution has given some special powers to the minorities of the country, but now they are trying to snatch away these powers.

Addressing a huge gathering at the Convention for the Protection of the Constitution of India at the Indira Gandhi Indore Stadium today,  Maulana Madani said: “The secular constitution has given religious freedom to every citizen and the option to adopt and preach the religion of his choice. But today this freedom is being curtailed. Sometimes there is a conspiracy to close madrasahs, sometimes there is a plan to introduce a uniform civil code. The Waqf Amendment Bill is our biggest challenge today, through which there is plan to grab our waqf properties, Is this called religious freedom? “

Referring to the current political and social situation, he said that when we did not bow down to the oppression and coercion of the British, no force can bow down to us, because Muslims bow down to only one Allah, he said that the sectarian forces have found a complete lie to burn the country. They are trying to divide people on the basis of religion and create sectarian tension and incitement by raising various religious issues.

Maulana Madani said The one-sided politics that is being done in the country during the last few years has put a question mark on the existence of the constitution. It is said that the minorities of the country, especially the Muslims, are being disturbed with new tactics by openly violating the constitutional orders. He said that there is no longer any doubt that the country is completely in the grip of fascism. In such a situation, it is not only us but all the citizens of the country who believe in the country’s constitution and democracy. Come forward to the rescue because if the supremacy of the Constitution is lost then democracy will not be able to survive. Referring to issues like Assam citizenship issue, bulldozer action, action against madrasas and Haldwani riots, Maulana Madani welcomed the recent decisions given by the Supreme Court on them and said that the Supreme Court is becoming a shelter for helpless and helpless people. He also said that sectarians accuse Jamiat Ulema-i-Hind that it shelters terrorists, this is a completely false and baseless allegation, Jamiat Ulema-i-Hind does not give shelter to any terrorist but provides legal help to those helpless and people who are falsely accused of terrorism. Maulana Madani  said that Awqaf is the heritage of our forefathers and is the property of Allah, but now we reject the amendment bill which is being brought. He asked why this is happening only against a certain religion. Do they not have the right to live on the basis of religion?

Maulana Madani specifically mentioned the crutches on which the present government rests, and said that if the waqf amendment bill is passed, those parties will also be responsible for it.  He said that the policy of sectarian ideology is a big threat to the unity and solidarity of the country and those who are in favor of this policy should remember that this country can survive only with brotherhood, compassion and love, hatred and religion based….

Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, focusing on the Waqf Amendment Bill, while detailing the amendment points in his speech, said that this is a very dangerous amendment and if this bill is passed, the existence of our mosques, tombs, dargahs and cemeteries will be in danger. Elaborating on the amendments that have been made in the proposed bill.

Nawab Jan alias Ameer Babu, a close associate of Chandrababu Dodd and vice-president of the Telugu Desam Party, said that we have to move forward unitedly to thwart the attempt to usurp the Waqf. He also said that Naidooji is a secular minded leader and we are sure that he will do everything possible to stop this bill from being passed.

During his speech, Maulana Madani expressed his deep concern over the aggression, cruelty and brutality in Palestine and said that Israel is committing genocide of Muslims in Gaza with the help of America and the whole world has become a silent spectator to advocate for human rights. They are also silent and the Secretary General of the United Nations is silent by issuing a statement. He said that Israel is an usurper who has occupied Palestine and the Palestinians are fighting to liberate their country from this occupation.
