Central armed forces will be deployed at every polling station in the upcoming Assembly elections in Assam. Additional DGP (Law and Order) SN Singh told media that nearly 24,800 polling booths will be set up for the elections. He said, State Police will be deployed as zonal and sector force, while central forces will guard polling stations on the day of polling.
The poll process for the 126-member Assembly will be completed by June 5. Police have, so far, executed over 4,000 non-bailable warrants.
