Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB), Mumbai today filed an FIR against Ex- deputy CM and Nationalist Congress Party leader Chhagan Bhujbal for misusing his power and illegally handing over government land to a private builder. ACB has taken this action on the basis of an open inquiry conducted by Special Investigation Team (SIT) as per Bombay high Court’s instructions given in December, 2014.
ACB has also filed FIR against 5 other then Public Works Department (PWD) officers. ACB alleged that Bhujbal allotted government land in Kalina, Santacruz in Mumbai illegally to a builder by misusing his official position. In December last year, the state government gave its nod to ACB’s proposal to conduct an open inquiry into allegations of corruption and favoritism against Bhujbal in construction of Maharashtra Sadan in New Delhi and two other government buildings in Mumbai built under Private Public Partnership.
