President Ram Nath Kovind has appealed to the countrymen to adopt Hindi language with a great zeal. He said, this language play a great role in connecting people. The President was addressing the gathering at function in New Delhi after giving away the Rajbhasha awards for the Year 2016-17 on the occasion of Hindi Diwas which being celebrated today.

He said, Hindi language can bind the whole world into one thread. He said, the work of promotion of hindi language should always continue. Mr Kovind also suggested the doctors to prescribe the names of medicines in Hindi as it will result in greater interaction between doctors and patients.

Speaking on the occasion, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said, Hindi is only language which is uniting India. He said, the use of Hindi language should be promoted as it is not only the Rajbhasha of the country but it is also a langauge of communication.

The Rajbhasha awards were instituted by the Department of Official Language to recognize the excellent contribution of Ministries, Departments and Nationalized Banks in the field of Hindi.
