China has sailed a fleet of 230 vessels including coast guard ships near Japanese controlled waters in the East China Sea. Japan’s Foreign Ministry said, three of the coast guard vessels were armed with gun batteries.
The incident occurred near the Senkaku Islands administered by Japan but also claimed by China.
China yesterday announced that it has conducted a combat air patrol over the disputed South China Sea to improve its fighting ability. Last month, a United Nations-backed court in The Hague ruled that China had no claim to disputed part of the South China Sea.
