Maharashtra Government is planning to slap Maharashtra Control Of Organized Crimes Act (MCOCA) against builders indulging in illegal construction in the state. This was disclosed by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in the State Assembly yesterday.
Mr. Fadnavis said the state government will also hold civic and police officials responsible for illegal constructions. Offences registered under the MCOCA are non-bailable. The Chief Minister said, the state government has adopted a new policy, according to which a special officer will be appointed to keep a tab on illegal constructions.
