Delhi High Court today termed as “infructuous” the applications in the National Herald case. Congress President Sonia Gandhi, her son Rahul Gandhi and some other party leaders in their application had opposed the transfer of the case from the court of Justice Sunil Gaur who had part-heard the matter for 8 months to another court of Justice P S Teji.
Justice Gaur while terming their applications as infructuous said he had not recused from the matter. The case has been listed before him by the high court registry as it was part-heard by him, Justice Gaur added. Even senior advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing for Sonia Gandhi, agreed with the court observations and also added that they can be withdrawn. The court, will hear arguments in the matter at 2.30 PM today.
