The Israeli military has said that it carried out air strikes in Lebanon. The Israel Defense Forces stated that the strikes targeted dozens of rocket launchers and buildings used by Hezbollah to store weapons. The IDF also said it targeted military buildings used by Hezbollah in various parts of southern Lebanon. According to Lebanese health officials, over 100 people have been killed, and hundreds have been injured over 24 hours.

In a related development, the Palestinian militant group Hamas announced that Fateh Sherif Abu el-Amin, the group’s leader in Lebanon, was killed along with some family members in an Israeli air strike in southern Lebanon. The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine also reported that three of its leaders were killed in a strike in Beirut’s Kola district. The PFLP is a left-wing Palestinian armed group.
