People of Telangana and the state Government have paid rich tributes to Former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao on his 100th birth anniversary today. A 26- feet long statue has been unveiled at PV Marg in Hyderabad on the occasion to mark the culmination centenary celebrations of the visionary leader.

State Governor Dr Tamilisai Sounderarajan and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhra Rao have unveiled the statue located near the Jnana Bhoomi in Hyderabad. Speaking on the occasion, the state governor recalled the extensive contributions that PV Narasimha Rao made to various fields. She said the people of Telangana will always remember the son of the soil as his reforms are ever relevant. She released eight books including those written by PV himself on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Telangana Chief Minister announced that a special Chair will be set up at Kaktiya University in memory of his contributions to the fields of education and Linguistics.

Congress party has also held special programmes celebrating PV Narasimha Rao’s birth centenary and recalled his yeoman services in various fields.
