Home Minister Rajnath Singh today assured Parliament that the government was committed to combat terrorism with a strong resolve and ensure safety and security of citizens and security personnel as well.
Making a statement in both the Houses, on yesterday’s terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir, he said two BSF jawans were martyred and 14 others injured in the terrorist attack on the BSF convoy in Udhampur district’s Chinani tehsil.
Mr Singh informed the members that one of the two terrorists was killed and the other was nabbed by villagers.
Terming the attack as mindless violence, the Minister said the Pakistan- based terrorist Mohd Naved is being interrogated. He said two AK-47 rifles and ammunition have been recovered from the attackers.
The Minister expressed hope that the interrogation of Naved will reveal the modus operandi and objectives of the terrorists.
