Two militants were killed in the ongoing anti militancy operation launched by the security forces in south kashmir’s Pulwama district in Jammu & Kashmir since last evening. According to official reports the operation was in progress. One more militant is believed to be trapped inside the village.

The Army, Special Operations Group (SOG) of J&K Police and CRPF in a joint operation cordoned off Naina Batpora village of Pulwama district after specific information about the presence of militants. The militants reportedly fired upon the forces triggering off a gunfight. Reports said the firing resumed around 06:30 this morning.

Meanwhile, all the devotees who were present in the local Jamia mosque at the time of raging of encounter in the area, have been shifted to safer places. Reports said pelted stones at police and forces personnel not very far from the encounter site. Due to violent clashes in the area, the Baramulla-Banihal train service has been suspended for the day.
