Telangana will observe total shut down in the wake of the Janata Curfew for 24 hours, from 6 A.M. tomorrow to next day morning 6 A.M. to contain spread of Corona virus in the state. Emergency services like power, water and milk supply will be available as usual.

Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao made this announcement. The state-run road transport corporation and metro rail services will also be closed down.

He appealed to people, businessmen, employees and others except emergency services to follow Janata Curfew for the sake of mankind and for the sake of Telangana society.

The Chief Minister informed that the borders with Maharashtra and other states will also be considered for closure, if needed. He said, strategies are being worked out to supply even ration directly to homes, if necessary. He further said, the Centre has also approved for conducting the Corona testing at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad.

Stressing on the need for self-isolation and social distancing, he appealed to people to observe 24-hour shutdown to display courage to contain the virus. He further said, the government is considering all options to do everything to keep people to their homes.

Stating that Telangana State reported 21 cases of Coronavirus positive, he said, the joint teams have traced 11,000 persons have been traced by the surveillance teams across the country. Over 5,274 surveillance teams have been formed. In all, 78 joint teams are working at 52 check posts at inter-state borders.
