A deal unveiled by Russia’s military to set up safe zones in Syria has come into force. The four zones will remain in place for six months.
The accord on the zones was reached at Thursday’s talks in Kazakhstan between Russia and Iran which back Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Turkey, which supports Syrian rebel groups, agreed to act as a guarantor. Moscow said, US, UN and Saudi Arabia also support the idea.
The main Syrian opposition grouping said, it has little faith in the deal.
