A magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the killing of 2 persons including a CRPF head constable and injuries to another five during a protest at Tihu in Nalbari district Friday.
Nalbari Deputy Commissioner Om Prakash said that the incident occurred when a CRPF jawan fired indiscreetly at his colleagues who have been deployed to maintain law and order situation.
The DC said that among those injured, 4 are CRPF jawans. The jawan who killed his colleague also tried to commit suicide and is admitted to a hospital. Apart from the CRPF personnel, one youth leader was also killed in the firing.
Hundreds of people have gathered to press their demands to declare Tihu as a Sub-Division.
