India and America both agreed that Kashmir issue is a bilateral issue and India and Pakistan should talk to each other to solve this.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today categorically rejected any scope for third party mediation between India and Pakistan on Kashmir, saying the two countries can discuss and resolve all issues bilaterally.
PM Narendra Modi today met US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of G7 summit in Biarritz, France. Both leaders discussed various issues. Talking to the media, President Donald Trump agreed with the view of PM Narendra Modi that India has bilateral issues with Pakistan and that we do not want any country to get pained for this.
PM said that India and Pakistan should fight jointly against the poverty and social evils and should work for the betterment of the people of both countries. PM Narendra Modi today also had one to one meeting with Prime Minister of UK Boris Johnson.
Briefing about the bilateral meetings, Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhle said that there were no talks on Kashmir between PM Modi and Donald Trump in the meeting. He said that India and the US have agreed to address the trade issues and enhance military cooperation.
Regarding meeting with British PM Boris Johnson, he said that there were no discussions on kashmir. The foreign secretary said that India and UK agreed to make a Special team to see the progress of economic agenda between two countries and ways on cooperation in a post brexit scenario.
Foreign Secretary said that talks with UNSG Antonio Guterres were primarily focused on climate change. During the meeting, Prime Minister told Mr. Guterres about a new initiative which is Coalition for disaster-resilient infrastructure and it will be launched during PM’s visit to America next month.
