Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said if Pakistan does not allow an NIA team to visit there for probe into the Pathankot airbase attack case, it would be a “betrayal” to India.
Addressing a gathering of prominent persons and intellectuals in Pathankot yesterday, Mr Singh said when Pakistan’s Joint Investigation Team proposed to visit India for investigating the Pathankot terror attack case, it was mutually agreed that after the visit of the Pakistani team, a team of the National Investigation Agency would also visit the neighbouring country. He said so far Pakistan has not given permission to the NIA to visit there.
If the NIA team is not allowed to visit Pakistan, it will be a betrayal to India, he said. The Home Minister said Pakistan should prove that it was not supporting terrorism by allowing the NIA team to visit Pakistan.
Mr Singh also said the Prime Minister had left no stone unturned in improving relations with Pakistan but the latter was not willing to play ball. He said Mr Modi has been trying to improve relations with neighbouring countries, but India has not received a positive response from Pakistan.
