Nine-member committee of the Lok Sabha, constituted to probe the case of videography of Parliament complex by Aam Aadmi party MP Bhagwant Mann, has been given two more weeks to submit its report. Speaker Ms Sumitra Mahajan announced the extension of time in the House today. Earlier, the committee had to submit its report regarding the matter by today.
Ms. Mahajan informed the House that the committee headed by BJP MP Kirit Somaiya has requested for granting more time in view of gravity of the incident as well as to investigate the matter properly. She also said, Mr Mann has been asked not to attend the sitting of House until a decision is taken in the matter.
Last month, in a video, Mr Mann gave running commentary as his vehicle crosses security barricades and enters the Parliament Complex. Later, he also posted the video on social media on which Ms Mahajan took serious view. On 25th of July, the Lok Sabha Speaker constituted the nine-member committee.
