A delegation of Nishad community met Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow and demanded an impartial inquiry related to recent violence in Gorakhpur during Nishad agitation. The delegation led by Uttar Pradesh Minster Shankh Lal Mazhi, Member of Parliament Vishwambhar Nishad and many MLAs held discussion about Nishad community reservation issue with the Chief Minister.

The delegation also demanded Rs 10 lakh compensation for the family of Nishad youth who lost his life during violent agitation. Three days before on 7th June, more than thousand agitators belong to Nishad community blocked the rail traffic near Gorakhpur and later their agitation turn violent. They were demanding schedule caste status for their community.
