The next session of Parliament will commence on 25th of this month. The announcement was made by the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Secretariats today.
The session will continue till 13th of next month. This session will be an entirely new one following prorogation of the budget session of Parliament.
The second part of the budget session was to begin from 25th of April itself. In a rare move, the session was prorogued to facilitate promulgation of Ordinance to meet the financial requirements of Uttarakhand for current fiscal. The state is under President’s rule following political crisis.
Government hopes to receive the support of opposition parties in passage of key legislations including the Goods and Services Tax Bill which are pending.
Financial legislative business relating to Budget, including department wise discussion on demands for grants, will be conducted. Besides, Bill to replace Enemy Property Ordinance, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, Companies Amendment Bill will be taken up.
