Member Parliament Jamyang Tsering Namgyal in Ladakh has inaugurated the second edition of ‘Nurbu Wangdus Memorial Ice Wall Climbing Competition-2023’ at Gangle’s village near Leh town.
The three-day event is being organised at 13,000 feet above sea level by North West Frontier, Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) in collaboration with Ladakh Mountain Guide Association.
ITBP along with the local experts group of Ladakh Mountain Guide Association is organising it by creating an artificial ice wall on the hills, with an objective to nurture talents and to create a pool of talented Mountainers for the winter Olympics.
ADG, Western Command of ITBP, Manoj Singh Rawat attended the inaugural function. He assured to continue the competition in future.
