The Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education minister Suresh Kumar has informed that schools will not open in the state based on the Health department’s Technical Advisory Committee recommendations.
Speaking to media persons after holding a high level meeting under Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, the Education minister said that opening schools in December is not found suitable due to the winter season and instances of second wave of the pandemic in a few states.
Expressing concern over incidents of child labour and child marriages due to closure of schools especially in rural areas, the minister said that the Government will see how the problem can be tackled.
