A major tragedy was averted today in Jammu and Kashmir as security forces detected three powerful improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in a bag. The bag was found lying near Basri Nallah of Sangaldan area in Gool sub-division, Jammu which was recovered by a joint search party of army and police.
Soon after the recovery of the IEDs, a massive search was launched in the area following inputs on suspicious movement of some people there. No arrests were made during the operation. The bag is believed to have been abandoned by suspected terrorists planning to carry out attacks in the district. A cache of arms and ammunitions was also recovered from the bag. The police have registered a case and started investigation on the matter.
