State Police has seized huge caches of arms and ammunition in Nahan, the district headquarter of Sirmaur in Himachal Pradesh. This include 2,500 live cartridges, four guns and 232 kilogram pallets which were stored by a former registered arms dealer in his house illegally after expiring his arms licence early this year. Besides it, gun powder, Sulphur, Potassium and other materials have also been recovered from the dealer.
Superintendent of Police Somya Samshivan said that four persons have been booked for stocking illicit weapons and ammunition. After Independence Day function near Chougan ground on Saturday a light blast occurred near the house of arms dealer, which gave a lead to the police to recover these arms and ammunition.
