There is no respite from heat wave sweeping Rajasthan the state for the fourth consecutive day today. Most of the places in western, northern and south-eastern districts witnessed a rise in minimum and maximum temperatures. Bundi remained the hottest place in the state, recording maximum temperature of 46 degrees Celsius.

The sharp heat has disturbed the normal life in the state. Mercury is taking swing after few hours of sunrise. District administration of Pali and Jaipur has given the respite to school children from severe heat. Directions have been issued to all private and government schools in these districts to close the schools by 12.30.

With the rising temperature, many places in Jaipur, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Bharatpur, Alwar and Barmer districts are facing the crisis of drinking water. On the other hand, hospitals have witnessed a surge in the number of diarrhoea cases. The health department has put its officials on alert regarding heat stroke and other related diseases.
