NTPC said the challenge before the power sector is to deploy advanced technology with an objective to decrease carbon intensity and provide power at competitive rates.

According to the company’s release, addressing the 30th Indian Engineering Congress in Guwahati, NTPC CMD A K Jha said the 21st century engineering will be about environmental and social sustainability of the planet and its people.

Jha opined as India progresses to a higher growth via. various policy initiatives like Make in India, there is a huge responsibility of the engineering fraternity.

The theme was ’21st Century Engineering-Make in India Pathway’ for the country to become a preferred source for the world for processes, products and services.
