At least 22 people were killed when four multi-storey residential buildings packed with migrant workers collapsed in eastern coastal Zhejiang Province of China yesterday. 28 people were reportedly pulled from the debris, but only six survived.

Local officials said, rescuers were verifying the number of people trapped under the debris in the Wenzhou’s Lucheng industrial district. Rescuers said, the buildings that collapsed were built by villagers themselves. The cause of the collapse was under investigation. Several buildings have collapsed in recent years in China mainly due to poor construction.
