To a question put by The India Awaaz, at his monthly press conference here home minister asked: “Are you comparing the credibility of Swamy Asimanand with NIA and other agencies”.  “The NIA, CBI and other agencies have much higher credibility than the Swamy Asimanand, who is an accused in the crimes”.

Two days back Aseemanand has denied his role in any terror activities saying his confession to the CBI was under coercion from investigation agencies and so was his letter allegedly suggesting he wanted to turn approver.

He told the court he has no desire to turn approver in the cases including the Samjhauta Express, Ajmer, Malegaon and Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad.

On Samjhauta Express Blast case investigations, Chidambaram said the probe is continuing. He said, all the cases of right wing terror are being handed over to National Investigation Agency for probe. However, Sunil Joshi’s case is a complicated one. He added that it is just a matter of time before the investigating agency takes up the probe of all the cases.

Home minister also said that the Malegaon bomb blast case of September 8, 2006 and the Makkah Masjid blast of Hyderabad of October 11, 2007 have been entrusted to NIA on March 22 this year. Till now these cases were probed by the CBI.

Chidambram also informed that crime no 704/ 2010 of Muvathaupeezaha police station of Ernakulum kerala pertaining to chopping of the hand of Prof T J Joseph was entrusted to NIA for investigation.
