The Bombay High Court today slammed the CBI once again over the investigations into the murders of rationalists Dr. Narendra Dabholkar and Govind Pansare. The court said it was not happy with the way the murders are being probed.

Bombay HCThis is third time the court has disapproved of the investigating agency’s ways saying the probe in both the cases was not satisfactory. Last November, the court rapped the agency calling the probe slow, while in December it said the agency was ‘bungling up’ the probe by causing inordinate delay in obtaining forensic report of Dabolkar muder case from the Scotland Yard.

The court was hearing the progress report by the CBI in the two murder cases. The CBI today submitted ballistic report from Ahmedabad forensic lab in sealed cover. It also told the court that the Scotland Yard has refused to help in the forensic probe in both murder cases as there was no India-UK agreement. The court has also directed the CBI not to make public the details of report without court’s permission.

Dr. Narendra Dabholkar was murdered by bike-borne assailants in Pune on August 20, 2013 while another rationalist Govind Pansare was killed in Kolhapur on February 20, 2015 in a similar manner.
