Congress has said the Narendra Modi government has advertised its work better though it has only renamed the previous UPA government’s policies. Briefing media person senior Congress leader P Chidambaram said UPA did not trumpet its achievements as well as or as cleverly as the present government. Saying that imitation is the best form of flattery, he said he is happy that NDA is following UPA policies.
The former Finance Minister sought to know what NDA government has achieved in terms of development and generating employment after one year in power.
The senior party leader expressed worry over what he called lack of vision and policy on the part the Centre. Saying that core sectors are performing badly, and large number of public and private projects are stalled, Mr Chidambaram said Centre should answer how they wish to deal with these worrying signals.
Mr Chidambaram alleged that surveys show that the level of support which Narendra Modi enjoyed has declined sharply in the past one year. He said people have begun to realise that much of BJP’s poll promises were just electoral gimmicks.
