Despite so many allegation against party, the ruling BJP has emerged victorious in elections of eight out of 10 urban bodies, where polling was held on August 12. The Party has won mayoral posts in Morena and Ujjain Municipal Corporations.
Ashok Argal of BJP has been elected as Mayor of Morena.
Meena Zonewal of the party has won mayoral post in Ujjain. The BJP has bagged post of chairman in six municipal councils while Congress in one.
An independent candidate has elected as chairman in Dhuwara Municipal Council. The victory has boosted the morale of the ruling BJP as the opposition Congress made Vyapam issue the main election plank.
Expressing satisfaction over electoral success, Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that there is no place for negative politics in the state .
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today thanked the people of Madhya Pradesh for reposing their trust in BJP in the civic polls.
In a tweet, Mr Modi said, MP civic poll results are gladdening and saluted the efforts of Karyakartas and party leaders.
BJP today said party’s victory in Madhya Pradesh civic polls is proof that people of the state want development.
Briefing media persons in New Delhi Sunday evening, party spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said people have given their stamp of approval to party’s politics of development by giving it a huge mandate.
