The Assam government has issued advisory against the use of imported crackers during the Diwali festival. In an order issued by the Home department, all Deputy Commissioners and SPs were instructed to ensure that imported fire crackers are not sold or stocked in the state.
They are also instructed to maintain vigil against the selling of foreign origin crackers . Police are also instructed to take strict action against the importance of foreign firecrackers. This step is likely to boost the domestic fire crackers sector in Assam.
