The cyclonic storm-ASHOBAA over northwest Arabian Sea and adjoining area moved nearly west-northwestwards during past 6 hours. According to latest cyclone bulletins issued by Indian Meteorological Department, Cyclone Ashobaa is now centered about 1050 km west-northwest of Mumbai, 760 kilometers west of Veraval, 400 km east-southeast of Sur-Oman and 560 kilometers east-southeast of Muscat. The system would intensify further into a severe cyclonic storm, move nearly northwestwards during next 24 hours and west-northwestwards towards Oman coast thereafter.
Cyclonic storm would cross Oman coast near Ras Al Hadd during the Thursday night. Weather office has issued moderate to heavy rain warning at isolated places in the coastal areas of Saurashtra and South Gujarat.
