India’s active caseload of COIVD-19 has dropped below 4.85 Lakhs and currently stands at 4 lakh 84 thousand 547 . This is the third day of the active cases being sustained below the five lakh mark. Their share in the total Positive Cases stands at only 5.55 per cent.

The Ministry of Health in a statement said, this has been made possible by the trend of recoveries exceeding new cases which has ensured a total net reduction of the Active Caseload. The Ministry said, in contrast to 44 thousand 879 new reported cases, 49 thousand and 79 cases have recovered in the last 24 hours which continues India’s trend of having daily high recoveries that outnumber the daily new cases.

This trend has been observed for the 41st day today.The Ministry said, the total recovered cases stand at 81 lakh 15 thousand and 580 which translates to a Recovery Rate of around 93 per cent.

With 44 thousand 874 new cases reported in the last 24 HOURS, the total number of positive cases in the country reached over 87 lakh. The Ministry said that effective implementation of the strategic and graded Test, Track and Treat approach has led to higher recoveries and lower fatality.

Currently, India’s Case Fatality Rate is at 1.47 per cent, which is one of the lowest globally. During the last 24 hours, 547 deaths were reported taking the toll to one lakh 28 thousand 668.

According to Indian Council of Medical Research, more than 11 lakh 39 thousand tests were conducted during the last 24 hours. The total number of samples tested so far has reached 12 crore 31 lakh.
