Americans are ready to go to the polls today to elect its 45th President. The race between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton remains as close as well. Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton held a four percentage point lead over Republican Donald Trump in the Washington Post poll released yesterday.

In a survey of 1,763 likely US voters, 47 per cent said they backed Clinton and 43 per cent said they supported Trump. According to the Washington Post, the poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.5 percentage points. A separate Bloomberg Politics-Selzer & Co poll released earlier showed Clinton with a 3 point lead.

Democrat Hillary Clinton brought out the “big guns” Monday night, as the most caustic, exhausting and, at times, surreal U.S. presidential campaign in modern political history headed toward its climax.

Tens of thousands of fans turned out for an all-star rally in Philadelphia that included former President Bill Clinton, President Barack and first lady Michelle Obama, and rock superstars Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi.

Clinton said Democrats believe in a “hopeful big-hearted America,” saying the only way to build on the progress made in the last eight years under Barack Obama is to get out and vote.
