Four-day Chhath puja celeberations concluded today with devotees paying oblation to the rising sun in several states including Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh.

Devotees broke their their 36 hours fast after paying oblation to the Sun God.

This festival is connected with purity, devotion to the Sun God, who is considered as the source of life on this earth and is regarded as the deity who fulfills all wishes.

People started gathering on Ghats of Ganga, Kosi , Gandak and Sone rivers in the wee hours.

Lakhs of devotees paid offering to the Sun God on the banks of ponds and water reservoirs in Mithilanchal areas which includes Darbhanga, Madhubani and Sitamarhi districts of the state.

A large number of devotees made special offerings to the Sun God at the sun temple at Deo in Aurangabad, Barkagao in Nalanda and Ular Sun temple in Patna district.

In Delhi devotees paid oblation to the rising sun at various ghats at Yamuna river and also at India Gate.
