Nurses in government hospitals across the country have called off their indefinite strike. The spokersperson of All India Government Nurses Federation, Liladhar Ramchandani told MEDIA that the decision was taken after the Centre assured that their issues would be resolved by the 12th of this month.

The nurses are demanding revision in pay and allowances. The spokesman said, they received a call from Union Health Minister JP Nadda asking them to withdraw the strike as Delhi and many other cities are grappling with rising cases of dengue and chikungunya.

The Centre has constituted a committee, headed by the Finance Secretary, to look into the nurses demands.
